News: The Oprah Winfrey Show Returning To TV

Guess that grand farewell was premature? In order to save her sinking network OWN, Oprah is bringing back her long-running daytime talk show, "The Oprah Winfrey Show",  to help viewers improve their lives. It will air weekday evenings starting October 10.

"At Oprah's core, she is a teacher," OWN president Sheri Salata said, announcing that the show will have a companion online course. Viewers can sign up "to reserve their spot" in class starting Friday at Oprah.com

News: Pusha T And Consequence Beef

After rapper Consequence took shots at him on his diss track "The Plagiarists Society," Pusha T has begun pushing back. The Clipse rapper took to the air waves the past two days and fired a few jabs at his former G.O.O.D. Music associate.

After one of the hosts of Chicago's 107.5 WGCI The Morning Riot radio show suggested he'd like to see a rap battle between Pusha and Consequence, P was incredulous.

“Really? You’re like the first person to ever say that. I don’t ever think anyone’s wanted to see Consequence,” he joked. “Never no radio personality, DJ has ever said they want to hear Consequence!”

In a subsequent interview, on the same station, Ziploc P suggested that a beef with Cons would be beneath him.

"To me, as it stands right now, it’s so funny. Me and ‘Ye have never talked about it. Never, not once. That in itself should just tell you how serious it is. It’s really not. But it’s not an inside thing because he’s not inside. He’s outside."

Pusha left the door open for a possible retaliation on wax, but said he wouldn't want to get into a big war of words.

"I’m just an artist, so I have fun. When I write, I write from my soul. If it happened to come up in my mind and it made good sense and it felt right, I might," he said.

"But a go-back-and-forth between me and him, it’s not right. You can’t get anything out of it,” he concluded. “People are disrespectful. What can you say?"


So word got back to Consequence and he isn't too happy with the way Pusha T has been talking about him in interviews, so the former G.O.O.D. Music rapper and former A Tribe Called Quest affiliate called into Chicago's 107.5 WGCI radio this afternoon to get a few things off his chest.

Addressing his latest nemesis, Cons called Pusha the weaker emcee and suggested he was scared to challenge him directly

"Lyrically he can't compete with me," Cons said. "That's why he's doing all the smoke and mirrors."

But it's not just Pusha who Consequence considers to be inferior the Queens native declared himself the best and most talked about lyricist in hip hop.

"I'm probably the best pure lyricist in hip hop and in music right now," he asserted. "Right now, I'm the most talked about commodity in hip hop."

Cons responded to Pusha T's allegations that no one is checking for his music by reminding listeners that he co-produced the Beyoncé single "Party." He also said that Kanye doesn't talk to Pusha about him because he's just using the Clipse rapper.

"He's just worker," Cons said. "He was jet fuel for Pharrell Williams, and now he's jet fuel for Kanye West."

When asked why he decided to speak out against Kanye in recent months, while other lesser known G.O.O.D Music artists have kept silent, Consequence said he was just being true to himself.

"It's just the dynamic that lives within me," he said. "Am I the kind of man who stands up for himself? Yes."

At the end of the interview, Consequence debuted a song on which he addresses his beef with G.O.O.D. Music titled "Straighten It Out."

According to Yahoo!, he’s teaming up with the popularly inexpensive Swedish clothing chain known for doing one-shot guest designer collaborations with super big names like Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and Jimmy Choo, Madonna.

Yet unlike these other designers, 36-year-old Beckham will be a mainstay, selling men’s body wear through the company. In a recent statement, the father of four says, "Over the past year, I've been developing my Bodywear range with my team and I'm extremely positive about what we have designed and produced.”

According to TMZ, Soulja Boy bought a private jet.

The 21-year-old rapper is dropping $55 MILLION on a new private jet.

He bought himself a G5 jet as a birthday present to himself this week.

The jet cost $35 million but he paid $20 million more for upgrades 12 custom Italian leather seats, flat screen TVs, 4 liquor bars, a special tiled floor, a Brazilian hardwood cabinets a huge bathroom, and giving the jet a custom paint job to include his logo.

News: Larry Johnson Being Sued For Beat Down

Former All Pro running back Larry Johnson is accused of beating up a man who told police, "This ni**er is going down" referring to Johnson.

In a civil lawsuit, filed last week, the victim John Phillip Graney claims he was leaving a Miami Beach party in May when Johnson punched, tackled, and kicked him leaving Graney "beaten and brutalized."

Miami Beach police responded, and according to the official report Graney told an officer, "This ni**er is going down. He needs to learn a lesson, it's going to cost this prick."

TMZ obtained photos of Graney's battle scars and according to the suit he suffered cuts to his face and ear, bruised chest and knees, 3 herniated discs, and a torn rotator cuff.

Johnson denies all the allegations in the lawsuit and his attorney tells TMZ, "This is a straight extortion claim designed to seek money."

News: Trina Headlining A "Non Violence" Block Party

Trina will be using her talents to serve a good cause this weekend, headlining a block party in Philadelphia with the stated goal of promoting non-violence.

The 4th annual "Unity in the Community" bash will take place on Saturday July 30 and feature free food, celebrity appearances and a fashion show.

The city's state representative Kenyatta Johnson made a statement supporting the community's efforts to curb youth violence.

Beyoncé Knowles plans to publish a soul food cookbook. According to The Daily Mirror, the pop diva was inspired by her mother, Tina Knowles, who easily cooks up collard greens, cornbread and fried chicken.

News: T-Pain Sues AutoTune

T-Pain's partnership with the autotune makers, Antares Technologies ended in June. Now T-Pain is suing the company for continuing to use his likeness and image in marketing its products.

The producer also claims that the audio company licensed his name and image to third parties to promote their own products without his permission.

T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Najm, ended the endorsement with Antares and formed his own company with Izotope to create a line of audio effects called "The T-Pain Effect" as well as an upcoming "I Am T-Pain Mic."

He filed the lawsuit Monday claiming the above and that their violation could confuse consumers and potentially damage sales for his products.

He's seeking at least $1 million in damages, an account of all sales related to Antares' infringing products and an injunction that would prohibit the audio company from using or connecting him to their Autotune products.

I got my 1st start in the Business at the age of 10. I attended a private school in Sacramento and we had new uniforms about to roll out.


I was asked to be in the school fashion show where I would model one of the new uniforms. After doing so, I knew that it was something I had a deep passion for. Being in front of lots of people and a camera was something I felt very comfortable doing.

My proudest moment so far was about 3 yrs ago when I was signed to Model Management Company called Studio 24 located in downtown Sacramento. Unfortunately at the time I was unable to really chase my dream because of the timing. Work and School made it very difficult for me to focus on it but now i am ready and won’t stop until I make it!
 
That is probably my biggest regret. Jus not making the time to pursue it but that has all changed now. This is my top priority in my life and I’m so excited for what God has in store for me.
 
In describing myself I would say I’m very people friendly, social, and goofy. I am confident, not cocky. I know how blessed I am so I’m very humble and motivated. Honestly theres nothing I don’t like about myself. I was created in the eyes and image of God and I’m very thankful for the life I have been given.
 
Best advice I have ever been given is from my Mother who is also my best friend. Whenever im in a tough situation I just quote a scripture thats in the Bible “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

My best advice that I can give anyone is that to enjoy everyday that you’re blessed with. Life is very short and your only given one of these so do everything you’ve always wanted to do and love others just how Jesus loves you.


I'm currently working on making a very great portfolio so I can present it to some of the Top Agencies in the US to hopefully be signed to their company so I can take off from there.

News: Star Jones Sued By Ex Husband

The New York Post reports that during her signing at a store, the former Celebrity Apprentice star was served with court papers by her ex-husband, Al Reynolds. Sources said that Reynolds had difficulty serving Jones the papers since he filed a lawsuit against her in May for allegedly breaking their 2008 divorce agreement, which says that they are not to make “disparaging remarks” about each other.

Reynolds is asking for $50,000 from his ex after she allegedly broke the agreement when she went on The Wendy Williams Show on March 28 and called their marriage “kind of booty” referring to him being gay.

Sources also said that, at her book signing, Jones looked “noticeably upset” once she was confronted by the processor, who served her the papers and snapped a picture.

Jones has been traveling the country promoting her new book, Satan's Sisters.

News: Young Jeezy's New Album/New Tour

Young Jeezy has officially announced that on Sept 20 he will release his fourth album, "TM103," as well as go on a 31-city tour leading up to the release. A new single, "Shake Life," will also be serviced to radio on Aug. 1.

The new album is set to include two versions of the song "I Do" the first will feature Jay-Z and Drake, and the second will feature Andre 3000. "TM103" will also include "Lose My Mind" and "Ballin" which is currently at No. 15 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.


The release of "TM103" follows a three year wait since the release of his last album 2008's "The Recession".

Young Jeezy's upcoming tour, which kicks off this Friday in Dallas, will be supported by Freddie Gibbs, the Indiana native who signed with Jeezy's CTE (Corporate Thugs Entertainment) label last April.

News: Lauryn Hill Confirms Rohan Isn't Her Child's Father

Lauryn Hill is fed up with the rumors and speculation surrounding her baby. The hip hop star released a statement confirming that on again off again partner Rohan Marley is not the father of the baby boy she gave birth to on Saturday.

“Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning. To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son.”

News: The Game To Join Young Money

Compton MC "The Game" has been with Interscope Records his entire career, but the platinum-selling rapper has his sights on a new home after his commitment to the label expires. Speaking to XXLmag.com, Game said he wants to take his talents to Cash Money.

"I speak to Baby everyday," Game said of his relationship with the Cash Money founder.

With the release of The "R.E.D." Album this August, he will only have one more album left before his Interscope deal runs its course. At that point, Game hopes to join Lil Wayne and the YMCMB crew, with whom he has grown comfortable with over a number of collaborations throughout the years.

“We been playing with the idea of going over to Cash Money or trying to marry that and Black Wall Street,” he said. “So, we’ll figure it out before the end of the day. I definitely think that’s where I’ll probably end up. Cause they winning, they want to win and I been winning and want to continue to win.”

Recently, Cash Money has expanded its roster to include Bow Wow and producer/big name collaboration mastermind DJ Khaled. The powerhouse label already boasts perennial chart-toppers Nicki Minaj and Drake as their star talent.

Game reportedly speaks on his relationship with the iconic label on the "R.E.D." Album track "All I Know." The record, Game's fourth album, is scheduled to hit stores August 23.

On The 6th presents an artist on the rise that you should pay attention to Stephen Beasley and The Stephen Beasley Project. Take a minute and get to know this up and coming artist.

In his own words:

I guess if you were to look up Stephen Beasley in some kind of "Dictionary of Life," it would read: A totally deconstructed, humbled but WHOLE man, who creates music on his own terms in collaboration with great people (Ben, Chris & Dave of The sbP).

I was at Showtime at the Apollo in January 2003 I didn't win, but I won. Even though I had been singing since I can remember and music had already taken me to many amazing places. I'd have to say the moment I TRULY knew I belonged on stage was at The Apollo that winter day. Monique was the host then, she followed her dreams and we see where its gotten her. I'm still following mine and they've lead me to a great place in my life!

Since consciousness, I knew making music would always be part of my story.
One of my proudest moments was the live recording of our debut, "The Music of Transition" in September 2008, at a small club on a Wednesday night. The album is rootsy, unpolished and tells the story of hard-earned lessons and I'd like everyone to hear it.

Also being able to perform all the songs I've ever written with The SBP, in Summer of 2010 in the Square Festival in NYC for a crowd of over 1,000 people. Summer in the Square was the debut performance of "Life Takes a While" and "Sad Runner", two of our 2011 singles. They are songs that free me a little more each time I share them with audiences.

Goals I haven't accomplished yet that I plan on too is finding TRUE FANS of The SBP, finding OUR PEOPLE. If you're out there, you know how to find us!

Also recording a high-quality COMPLETELY LIVE Album, with every musician that has helped me along the way, performing in Major Festivals on at least 3 continents, every year and performing at NYC venues like Central Park Summer Stage, and The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center where I was once an usher.

Even though Ive been writing music since the day I first heard "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" I didn't get SERIOUS about the development of my music until much later, this is a regret of mine. However, "Life as I've Lived It" shines through every song I make and that something satisfying.

Seriously though, I guess I could describe myself as consistent, but not quite "predictable." As far as things I wish I could change, I would be more "smooth." As far as things I HAVE changed and I am now a better and less judgmental listener (I am proud of this.)

What's the best advice anyone has ever given you, and what advice would you give others who are trying to do what your doing?
I have not yet determined whether its the BEST ADVICE of my life, But someone recently told me the following (and so I'll pay it forward). "The Road to Hell is PAVED with Bad Boundaries, The Road back from Hell are paves with Good Boundaries." As far as advice to fellow musicians, Ill give this, move one foot in front of the other. Advice that was given to me through the lyrics of our first 2011 single, "Mirror Love":

I'm also excited to release an intensely personal song, "Hope 4 the Future" sometime in the next month. I'm also coordinating a few projects relating to Diabetes, HIV and Community Theatre through various Non-Profits in Brooklyn, NY.
