Isaiah Washington joins Kate Beckinsale for the drama "The Trials of Cate McCall", about a former hotshot prosecutor who threw her career away when she became an addict. Between that and a happy ending, she takes on the appeal of a wrongly convicted murderess and battles crooked cops, a broken system, and her own demons.
Nick Nolte and James Cromwell also star in the film, which seems to have all the trappings of an awards contender.
