Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Joins Peta
Oscar-nominated actor Michael Clarke Duncan joined forces with PETA and revealed that he has been a vegetarian for 3 years. The actor talked about how he read books about the lifestyle and saw films like "Meet Your Meat" about the slaughtering of animals, which made him switch over to the vegetarian lifestyle.
"I’m a lot healthier than I was when I was eating meat. The best thing about being a vegetarian for me, number one is I know I’m not harming any animals. I have cats and dogs at home and I know I’m not doing that anymore. The number two thing is increased strength. I’m a lot stronger than I was when I was eating meat. I found out that most of your most powerful animals in the wild are vegetarian. So I’m trying to get my strength to that level. I don’t know if I’ll make it or not, but elephants are vegetarians – they’re pretty big"
He shared that he gets his daily dose from various whole foods like vegetables, legumes and fruit juice. Duncan joins the likes of Russell Simmons and Forest Whitaker when it comes to male vegetarian celebrities.
