G. Dep has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of a 1993 killing in New York. He confessed to shooting someone back in December 2010.
After Dep's confession, in which he said he shot a man while trying to rob him, police matched his story with the murder of a man named John Henkel.
The 15-year sentence was the minimum allowed under New York State law, according to the Associated Press.
Dep’s attorney, Anthony Ricco, maintains that his client has no regrets for coming forward and copping to the crime.
