In her own words:

My name is Tia Ferrera. I am a Pop/R&B recording artist from Sacramento, CA originally from San Diego but I've lived just about everywhere traveling for music!

I got started singing as a little girl in my grandpa's church and from there the music spark never left me. I was in and out of the business as a child but when the pressure got to be too much I went to college and got a "real job".

I always felt unfulfilled in my job though and kept singing and writing as "therapy" right around the time I lost my job and almost everything else, I decided I had to get back to my "dream" so put my all into my career in music, moved to LA and have been going ever since...thats the short version lol

We just released the video for my new single "Ladies Night" on my website http://www.officialtiaferrera.com. I am also planning to release two other singles by summers end as well as a full length project.

My greatest accomplishment so far, I would have to say just believing in myself enough to keep pursuing my goals, to keep pushing despite setbacks and to have performed with some pretty amazing people in some really amazing places at this point in my career is definetely on the top of the list.

I love cooking!!!! I am a foodie!! If I could travel all over the world and just eat all day I would!

Ultimately I'd love to open a performing arts center in my city for kids as well as give talented people a place and community to share their gifts.


What I like most about being in the business, self expression. I love that talent means something different to just about everybody so one day its this type and the next its that. I think its ever evolving kind of business and that always has an element of surprise to it.

What inspires and motivates me? The "everyday' man and woman. I come from and have always been around people that work hard to earn anything they have whether its a little or a lot they've put their all into their lives passionate people motivate me

My favorite job i've had was working in a salon. Its like your never really working lol your doing hair, talking, watching tv in my case singing and putting on little shows for the clients lol

Advice I have for those looking to pursue their dreams? Decide what you are passionate about write it down make a plan and wake up everyday doing something moving you closer to where you wanna be. You shouldn't be able to sleep until you've done at least one thing to move you closer to your dream

I hope if I am remembered for anything its that I never took life for granted, I lived it to the fullest, never took no for an answer always found a way to get those things I'd hoped for so that some one else knows they can too or that door is already opened to them
